Brighton Baseball Senior League

Senior League is generally for grades 9 and 10.

Brighton Baseball participates in an inter-town “house” league for Seniors. The inter-town league consists of teams from neighboring towns including Irondequoit, Gates-Chili, Honeoye Falls-Lima, Pittsford, Fairport, Penfield, Rochester, Greece, and others.

The Brighton teams will be selected in early April, and the coaches will then contact players and schedule practices. There are no tryouts or evaluations.

The schedule begins in early May and runs through the end of June. There are two games a week for a total of 16 regular season games.

There are also summer tournament opportunities for this age group, and announcements with regards to tryouts and schedules will be available in June.

Home games are played at the Brighton Varsity field and Moore Corporate Field at Buckland Park, on Westfall Road, with some of those games played under the lights!

Points of interest:

  • These age groups generally opt to NOT march in the Opening Day parade. It is up to each team to decide.
  • We schedule with an awareness of the school baseball schedules; so players can sign up to play school baseball and also this house league and expect to have few (if any) conflicts.
  • For safety reasons it is preferred to use molded cleats and -3 oz length/weight bats. League rules do permit metal cleats and do not restrict bat weight.
  • Any current high school sophomore who is League Age 16 (ie by 4/30/9x) will be required to register for and play Senior ball in order to also play Big Leagues in the same season.
  • The player must play in at least half the Senior games. If the player, at the end of the Senior season, decides to play Big Leagues, he or she will be assessed an additional $75.00 to play, in lieu of the full $150 that is required for Big Leagues. This $75.00 will be in addition to the $125 the player was charged for Seniors. Please also note that the District IV Big League is a competitive league, and players must try out for the team and there are no minimum play rules
