VolunteersWe appreciate any help provided by members of our town, relatives of our players and coaches, included interested fans of our youth programs. For over 25 years, Brighton Little League has honored an outstanding volunteer to the program with presentation of the Phil Feldman Award. Please consider becoming a Brighton Baseball volunteer.
ConcessionsBrighton Baseball operates two concession programs during the baseball season. We have service located at both Buckland Park and Meridian Centre. New and improved concessions will be in place at Buckland Park for the 2007 season. Details to come!
Field Maintenance and ImprovementsDuring the 2002 season home run fences were installed in all the fields at Meridian Center and the new softball field at Meridian Center opened. In the 2003 season the Brighton Baseball, Inc. Board of Directors allocated funds for fencing, dugouts, a scoreboard, and irrigation lines. Additionally, the Meridian Fields underwent a significant maintenance program in 2003. Our Brighton Town Board has once again agreed to fund a series of treatments including fertilization, weed control, aeration and seeding. Also in 2003 irrigation systems were installed in all three fields at Meridian Center (see Meridian Fields Capital Improvements pdf). The watering is essential to maintain the overall quality and safety for our kids. The fields receive very heavy use and combined with the low rainfall experienced in some years, our playing surfaces suffer significant damage. This was not an inexpensive endeavor but one we felt was absolutely essential. Three new fields are ready for play at the new Buckland Park on Westfall Road. This includes two little league fields and a lighted senior field, Moore Corporate Field. All fields have dugouts, fences and irrigation. The price tag for these three fields, much of which will be borne by Brighton Baseball, Inc., is approximately $300,000. |
